new year, new to-do list
do you ever feel like a plastic bag?
Fall 2025, I was on a roll—rolled off of a (super) short gig, juggling two personal projects with what felt like boundless stoke, socialization(!), activities(!!), I probably I made my first substack post…
And then something hit me. Winter, maybe.
Now it’s a whole new year, and these comics are probably the first things I’ve drawn (in a mad flurry) since last fall. I won’t subject you to the art-making-spiral knotting itself up in my head right now, but I’ll leave this: it felt really nice to draw and get lost in the process of making something again.

But slowing down is a good thing…even if it feels ambiently, sometimes overwhelmingly, unpleasant. Seasons of rest, not-making, processing, reevaluating, grief. Maybe that last season felt a little long, though.
I’m not really one for new year’s resolutions, but this year I do have one: be more ✨cunty✨. Realistically, I just want to be more assertive and a little less filtered in my daily life, but it’s important to have something to strive towards.
In tandem with BEING ASSERTIVE, I’m also trying to embrace going with the flow in a more unabashed sense. Which, in part, is playing to some of my impulses and seeing where that takes me.
My latest impulse was to go to a community-led Call Party over the weekend—where we called/emailed our senators to demand defunding ICE. There were all sorts of booths, beverages, music, and people gathering together for the community…it was beautiful to see, and in a very small way be a part of it. I highly recommend!

I recently jumped in on a sticker run with a friend, and got some sticker sheets made! I am planning on selling them soon…once I get my head around the tax stuff and set up a shop.
